Lemon Chess Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ -2 cups sugar
  • 2 T cornmeal
  • 1 T flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4 eggs
  • cup melted butter
  • cup milk or cream
  • cup lemon juice
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons grated lemon peel
  • 1 unbaked 9-in pie shell

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, cornmeal, flour and salt; mix to blend. Add eggs, on at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in melted butter, milk, lemon juice, and peel. Blend well. Pour mixture into the unbaked pastry shell. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean. You can also bake at 300 degrees for about 1 hour. Add more lemon juice if you like the taste. This was one of my mother’s favorites.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Light Karo syrup
  • 1 1/8 cup Sugar
  • cup Butter 1 ½ cubes
  • 6 cups Golden Gram Cereal
  • 8 cups Corn Chex
  • cup Slivered Almonds
  • cup Coconut

Instructions

  • Bring sugar, syrup and butter to a boil in a medium saucepan. Pour over cereal mixture and mix well coating the cereal. Allow to cool before serving.

  • 1 sm. Can crushed pineapple Drained
  • 1 sm. Frozen topping
  • 1 C. Mini Marshmallows

Instructions

  • Mix all ingredients together and chill before serving. This recipe looks better with colored marshmallows.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. powdered milk
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 4 c. water
  • 4 tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 tbsp. butter

Instructions

  • Mix all ingredients except butter and vanilla together. Cook in microwave stirring every once in a while until thick. When done, add vanilla and butter.

Ingredients

  • 1 quart reduced-fat dairy eggnog or 1 can 1 quart eggnog
  • 1 can 12 ounces frozen orange juice concentrate (thawed)
  • 1 can 12 ounces ginger ale (chilled)

Instructions

  • In a pitcher, stir eggnog and orange juice concentrate until well mixed. Pour in ginger ale and stir gently.

Ingredients

  • 4 orange spice tea bags
  • 6 C. boiling water
  • 2 C. orange juice
  • 1 qt. cranberry juice
  • 2 T. honey
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 C. fresh cranberries
  • 1 1/2 C. Grand Marnier or other orange liqueur

Instructions

  • Place the tea bags in the bottom of a large pot or kettle. Cover with the boiling water and let steep 5 minutes. Remove and discard the tea bags.
  • Add the orange juice, cranberry juice, honey, cinnamon stick and whole cranberries to the pot. Bring just to a boil, then simmer 15 minutes. Stir in the Grand Marnier and serve at once, ladled into mugs.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 CUP melted butter or margarine
  • 1/2 CUP granulated sugar
  • 1 TEASPOON cinnamon
  • 2 CANS Pillsbury Grand's Buttermilk Biscuits
  • 1 CUP brown sugar firmly packed

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 350°F Lightly grease Bundt pan with cooking spray . In large plastic food bag mix granulated sugar and cinnamon. Separate dough into 16 biscuits and cut each into quarters. Place biscuit pieces in bag, close and shake bag to coat. Arrange biscuit pieces in Bundt pan. In small bowl, mix brown sugar and butter then pour over biscuit pieces. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan for 15 minutes. Turn pan upside down onto serving plate. Pull apart to serve

Ingredients

  • 1 large Cool Whip
  • 1 large can crushed pineapple drained
  • 1/2 cup maraschino cherries halved (more if you like them)
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1 package instant pistachio pudding mix

Instructions

  • Mix all ingredients together and chill at least two hours, preferably overnight.

Notes

It's fast to put together, and you can make it the day before. Looks festive and tastes very good.
