Ingredients

  • 1/4 C. boiling water
  • 1 tsp. instant coffee powder
  • 1 1/3 C. packed brown sugar
  • 1 C. butter softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 C. old fashioned oats
  • 1 1/4 C. all purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 8 oz. pkg. milk chocolate toffee bits
  • 1 1/2 C. semisweet chocolate chips
  • 5 coarsely crumbled sugar cones

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Dissolve coffee in boiling water, cool to room temperature.
  • In a large bowl, beat sugar and butter until creamy with an electric mixer.
  • Add egg and beat well.
  • Beat in coffee and vanilla.
  • Combine oats, flour, salt and baking soda and mix well.
  • Gradually add oat mixture to the creamed mixture.
  • Beat well after each addition.
  • Stir in toffee bits, chocolate chips and sugar cones.
  • Drop dough by heaping measuring Tablespoons 2 inches apart onto cookie sheets.
  • Bake 12-14 minutes, just until golden brown.
  • Cool for 1 minute on the cookie sheet and transfer to wire racks.
  • Cool completely, Store loosely covered.

  • 9 inch baked pie crust
  • 1 1/2 C. sugar
  • 1/2 C. plus 1 tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 C. water
  • 3 egg yolks slightly beaten
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 tsp. grated lemon peel
  • 1/2 C. lemon juice

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Mix sugar and cornstarch in medium saucepan.
  • Gradually stir in water.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and boils.
  • Boil and stir for 1 minute.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Stir in butter, lemon peel and lemon juice.
  • Temper in the egg yolks slowly.
  • Pour into baked pie shell.
  • Heap meringue onto hot pie filling.
  • Spread over filing and seal meringue to edge of pie crust to prevent shrinking or weeping.
  • Put peaks in the meringue using back of a spoon and lifting upwards.
  • Bake for about 10 minutes or until a delicate brown.
  • Cool away from drafts.

  • 1/3 C. plus 1 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1 C. all purpose flour.
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2-3 Tbsp. cold water

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 475
  • Mix shortening into flour and salt until particles are about the same size as small peas.
  • Sprinkle in water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, tossing with a fork until all flour is moistened and pastry almost cleans the side of the bowl.
  • Gather pastry into a ball.
  • Flatten and shape into round on a lightly floured board.
  • Trim overhang edge of pastry 1 inch from rim of plate, fold over even with plate and flute.
  • Prick the bottom and side with a fork.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes or until light brown.
  • Cool.

  • Sprinkle the top with nutmeg.

  • 1/2 C. butter
  • 1 pint marshmallow cream
  • 12 oz. semi sweet chocolate pieces
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 C. nuts optional

Instructions

  • Cook sugar, milk and butter until it reaches the soft ball stage (236 F).
  • Remove from heat and remaining ingredients.
  • Beat until all of the chocolate pieces have melted.
  • Pour into a greased 13x9x2 inch pan.
  • Cool and cut into pieces.

  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup white Karo syrup

Instructions

  • In a large saucepan, combine sugar, water and Karo syrup.
  • Using a candy thermometer, Cook to 250 degrees F. , add raw peanuts and stir.
  • Bring to 325 degrees F. and remove from heat.
  • Add 2 Tbsp butter 1½ tsp vanilla ½ tsp salt Stir.
  • Add 1 Tbsp soda and pour into buttered pan.
  • Allow to cool completely and crack into pieces.
