Candy Cane Fudge

Ingredients

  • 1 package vanilla milk chips
  • 1 can Pillsbury Vanilla Creamy Supreme Icing
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 4 drops of red food coloring
  • 2 Tablespoons of peppermint candy canes chopped

Instructions

  • Put vanilla chips in pan on the stove at medium heat.
  • Continue stirring until the chips have melted.
  • Add icing to pan and continue stirring.
  • Take off heat and add peppermint extract until dissolved.
  • Pour mixture into a pan.
  • Take food coloring and add one drop in each corner of pan.
  • Take butter knife and begin stirring until the food coloring has been swirled into the fudge.
  • Add chopped peppermint pieces to top of fudge.
  • Cover the pan with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator until the fudge has harden. Cut into small pieces.

Ingredients

  • 2-3 c. of bread
  • milk
  • 2 eggs
  • c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  • Break up bread into crumbs and put in a large bowl.
  • Add eggs, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla.
  • Begin to mix in milk until you have a very thick cake-like batter.
  • Spoon mixture into a well buttered 8 by 8 square pan and bake for about 30 minutes at 350°F degrees.
  • When cool, cut into squares and serve.

Ingredients

  • cup butter or shortening
  • cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • tsp salt
  • tsp baking soda
  • tsp vanilla extract
  • cups flour
  • 1 cup Baby Ruth candy bars cut into small pieces

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Cream butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg.
  • Stir in other ingredients. Chill dough.
  • Drop by the spoonful onto a greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.

Notes

It’s always been a mystery to me where the chocolate coating on the candy bars goes---there’s no chocolate to be seen in the finished cookies!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar and
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 5 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt hard candies such as lollipops or life savers

Instructions

  • Mix margarine, shortening, sugar, honey, eggs and vanilla.
  • Add flour, soda and salt.
  • Add flour and chill the dough overnight.
  • On waxed paper roll out the dough and cut shapes with cookie cutters.
  • Then cut out areas for "windows" or Roll dough into "snakes".
  • Shape the snakes into cookies--leaving some open spaces.
  • Place the cookies on a well-greased cookie sheet.
  • Fill the openings with crushed hard candies or a whole life saver.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 7-8 minutes.
  • Let cookies cool for 5 minutes before removing them from the cookie sheet.

 

Rolled Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 cups white sugar 1 tsp soda
  • 1 cup shortening 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3 eggs 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup sour milk* or buttermilk 4 tsp. baking powder

Instructions

  • Mix soda in buttermilk or sour milk.
  • Use enough flour to make it stiff enough to roll.
  • Cut out and place on baking sheet.
  • Sprinkle with sugar.
  • Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.

Notes

To sour milk, put in 1 tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar to 1 cup of milk.

 

Bakeless Dream Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c.milk
  • 1 stick of margarine
  • 1/2 tsp.vanilla
  • 2 c.sugar or 2 1/4 cups of Splenda
  • 1/2 c.cocoa
  • 3 c.quick oats
  • 1/2 c .peanut butter
  • 1/2 c.chopped nuts optional

Instructions

  • Place sugar, cocoa, milk, margarine in a sauce pan.
  • Bring to a boil and boil for 1 minute.
  • Remove from heat and add peanut butter and nuts. blend well.
  • Stir in oats and vanilla.
  • Drop by teaspoonfuls on waxed paper.
  • Let stand until cool and real firm. Enjoy!

Notes

This was something me and my late father did together for Christmas. Later on I had to learn to make it with Splenda as my Father had Diabetes as does my Husband. So I had to learn to make these a bit differently but they still taste wonderful and they are so easy to make!

  • 2 cups Flour
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 1 cup Guinness Stout
  • 3/4 cup Cocoa Unsweetened
  • 3/4 cup Sour Cream
  • 10 tsp Butter Unsalted
  • 2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 2 Eggs

Instructions

  • In a large bowl over a medium heat, combine the Guinness and butter.
  • When the butter has melted, add the sugar and cocoa then blend together.
  • In another bowl, mix together the sour cream, vanilla extract and eggs.
  • Then add to the Guinness mix.
  • Add the baking soda and flour while mixing, then whisk well.
  • Pour into a large cake pan.
  • Place in an oven preheated to 350 F and bake for about 45 minutes.

  • 4 eggs yolks beaten
  • 4 egg whites beaten
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. flour

Instructions

  • Combine beaten egg yolks, sugar, lemon juice and salt.
  • Beat together well and fold in the beaten egg whites fold in the flour to the mixture and mix until all is combined.
  • Pour into ungreased pie pans and bake at 350 for approximately 35 minutes.
